Published excerpt from the book
The Judgment
Keeping Still describes the ability to stop movement at the proper time. The back becomes still, the body is no longer driven by restless impulse and the person can move through the courtyard without being pulled into every surrounding demand. Stillness is favorable when it restores presence rather than becoming avoidance.
